(This is crossposted from my personal journal, but in the future I'll just be linking!)
I've been inspired by the burial dress of Eleanora di Toledo, although I won't be sticking strictly to it (I like my side lacing, for one thing).

So I'm using a green silk dupioni for the gown. I know, horribly nothing like what it's actually made of, but I loved the color and the shine and...I love it.

Tomorrow there'll be pictures of the beginning of putting it together, trim, and me talking about the pizza cutter!

Date: 2010-04-28 03:27 pm (UTC)The one note I would make is that even for dupioni it's pretty thin, and is going to require a lining. I wear a petticoat underneath and I'm still fairly certain that to drape right I'll have to line it. OTOH, I got it on sale for $6/yard.
