I don't have Woven into the Earth, but did it have the gridded diagrams and extrapolated pattern layouts in that preview? Those look nice.

(I wish I could find a TOC for Seventeenth Century Women's Dress--I want to know what else is in there. I had a chance to look at galleys for the Laton jacket section and passed it up to look at embroidery instead, but I kind of wish I'd at least glanced at them now that I know the pub date is so far out.)

The Royal School of Needlework has a blackwork book out. TBH, I don't think it's very useful from a historical perspective, though. They really like their modern approaches to blackwork.
